Writing is the song this site will sing, although I’ve had diverse adventures in the realm of arts and entertainment.

These include: being on the faculty at that famed comedy institution The Second City Training Center; radio airtime as an announcer/music host at the late, lamented N.P.R. affiliate WNKU in Greater Cincinnati; board-trodding as a sketch comedy writer and performer (The Monkeytime troupe in Cincinnati and the award-winning Chicago satire The Best Church of God); and a whopping amount of improv (Chicago, Chicago, Chicago).

My current focus is prose fiction. I have two novels in the works, one of which is a hardboiled noir mystery, the other a more literary work.

Comedy has been a big part of my life for more years than I will admit to here, but not everything I write is comic. I also have a taste for darkness and sadness.

On a good day, I may even aspire to transcendence.
